Overview

This project was contracted by a Danish agency to develop a way for customers to easily find sneakers and shoes on display on a wall. The main idea was that an iPad was mounted in front of a big shoe display wall. On the iPad, a customer could browse the available shoes, and when selecting one, the corresponding shoe on the wall would light up to indicate its position. The application allowed filtering by different parameters such as size, color, brand, etc. Each shoe position on the wall was equipped with a small embedded board with a BLE module and an RGB LED. The iPad application communicated with all the embedded boards via Bluetooth to control the LEDs based on user selections. The circuit could be powered by either a central power supply or individual batteries for each board, depending on the installation requirements. The case for presented in the picture was just for prototyping purposes; the final design was integrated into the shoe wall discreetly.
