Technical Details
This board was designed as built to retrofit an old CNC machine with modern control capabilities. It was designed around the low-power STM32L1 ARM microcontroller, leveraging its communication peripherals. It interfaced with the existing CNC controller and added remote capabilities for control and monitoring. A WiFi module was integrated to allow remote operation and monitoring of the CNC machine via a custom application. For configuration, when the WiFi network was unavailable, a temporary access point could be created by the board to connect directly for setup. Unfortunately, due to NDA restrictions, more specific details about the implementation and outcomes cannot be disclosed. The board presented in the pictures it not the final one used in the CNC machine, but a prototype for testing purposes only.
